OK FLAMESUIT ON!

I have read all the posts on polishing models but i just want to know if this method will work

1. Prime Body
2. Rub down and filler etc
3. paint body colour
4. Apply lacquer (Halfords Lacquer in the UK)
5. Polish with Autoglym.

Any help would be great

Thanks

Rich

Why doesn't anybody answer? :sly:

Ok after step 4 maybe if there's orange peel, sand the whole body lightly with maybe 2000 or higher. Be sure not to RUB through the paint.

after you've sanded down the whole body and all the paint is smooth and dull. Do step 5.

before polishing you should sand it down with 2000 or 4000 grit. then after polishing you should wax to protect it.

It should work, although a wax at the end would be a good idea.

The only questions I would have would be:

1. You might want to consider priming again after you apply any putty (ie. in Step 2). This will give a consistent color and texture before your color coat.
2. in Step 4, you say you're going to apply Lacquer. I assume you mean a clear lacquer of some sort. This should be fine, but if your color coat is enamel, you might want to wait a week or two to make sure that the enamel is fully cured. Also, when you apply the lacquer, put it on in very light mist coats or the chemicals might go to work on the enamel paint underneith. If your color coat is a lacquer of some sort, I don't think you'll have this problem.

Hope it turns out great!!
