I finally show you guys my 1/16 entry model. It's a very old Airfix motorcycle. An Ariel Arrow.
I got two of these kits a while back from my father's friend. He wanted one of them back when I finish it and the other will be a gift for me. I'll build one of them and build it like the boxart.
First impression of the kit is not good. Very old plastic (from the 70's....) and very strange moldings. But the fittment is pretty good for such an old kit. I've seen modern AMT kits that are much worse.

First I glued the two frameparts together and smoothed the moldingline. Then I primered the bike and a few more parts before I could paint it Porsche Creme White. After this I masked the frame and mixed my own gold paint and painted the fueltank and the rearlight house.

This brings back memories! I'm sure I built this when I was VERY young in the early 1970s - long gone now, and of course nowhere near the standard we are about to see.

I clearcoated the bike with 2K clear from Sikkens. I also did the most challenging job of this kit. The wheels.
They are 2 pieces and tyres and wheels are molded together. First I glued the 2 pieces together and primered it. Then I sprayed the gloss back base for the alclad chrome paint. Afther the chrome I masked of the wheels and painted the whitewalls. A little more maskingtape was added and I painted the tyres with matt black.
