So I have a lumina that will randomly not start, wont even try to crank. Everything dies when the key turns off the lock position, but not cranking. Replaced the lock and tumbler. Still does it. When it doesnt start I pull the ignition fuse and it starts right up, EVERY time. Is it the ignition relay? Kinda lost here... any help is appreciated.

When it won't crank do you have 12v to solenoid wire on the starter, when in the crank position? Does the security lite stay on?

everything is as dead as a doornail when its in crank position. I pull the ignition fuse and replace it a second later.... go to crank and everything is lit up and the car turns over like there was never a problem.

So, are you just pulling the fuse and putting the same one back in?? Also have you checked both battery cables for being clean and tight at both ends?

pulling the fuse and putting the same one back in. Something electrical in the ignition system is getting reset by pulling the fuse. Once its reset it turns over beautifully. I have had it stop running a few times while driving, then a minute later without touching anything it turns over again.... but usually it takes a few times with everything going dark when i try to turn it over. One of the times it quit while i was driving i turned the light dial, like turning the lights on had something to do with it. Really odd.
