Are you sure this is the way to program this vehicle?

Was the key fob working before?

Were the door switches working before you tried to program the fob?

I think it's the way to program it. The looks were working before perfectly now only lock and unlock when I shut the car off and go out of park. And the keyless entry fob didnt work with my car I just bought it today

OK, a couple of things.....

I'm not sure of what the correct procedure is to program a fob.....in some cases, you need a GM scan tool....in some cases, you jumper the ALDL connector.....in some cases, you jumper a green harness connector in the trunk, to ground, with the key on.....when you do this, you should hear the door locks cycle, lock/unlock....like I said, I don't know the exact procedure, but when you enter program mode, you should hear the locks cycle....if they don't you are not in program mode...

Now, I believe your locks are controlled by the BCM......there is nothing wrong with the lock actuators......

So either the BCM is not receiving the input from either switch, or the BCM is bad.....now I doubt both switches would go at the same time......what is common to both circuits is a ground....if the ground is open or corroded, the BCM will not get the signal from the switch......pull up the carpet on the front driver's side and check grounds there(if wet, you have a water leak, that is causing corrosion problems)......

If the locks cycle in program mode, you may have a bad fob(battery?), or maybe the wrong one.....another possibility, is your vehicle may not have RKE.......you need to check the SPID label to see if the vehicle has this option......

I don't know what you did in the trunk to get this into the program mode.....is the procedure in the owner's manual?
