oil leak

question i was doing an oil change on a 2000 audi a6 2.8l and when i was installing the oil filter oil was still dripping between the filter and the face of were the filter is. i made sure that the old gasket was not there. what could possibly be the situation? plz help!!?

tighten it a bit more
