Lotus 72 Rob Walker, Ebbro, 1/20

Hi
and another one... while I couldn't spray the clear on the Alfa I already did a lot of work on this one.
The kit is the Rob Walker version of Ebbros first line of kits, and I like what I see. The metal mount of the mirrors is very nice, and so are the details, the fit, a good kit. Only thing I found not that good was the plastic they used - it behaved a bit strange when glueing and sanding (no big problem, but still a bit strange) and unfortunately it reacts not well to "hotter" paints. I painted the white areas, and when I put the Zero 1k clear on, the blue color of the plastic came through. You can see it a bit on the number on the front; the rear wing I painted again and used self printed decals as replacement. So if you use a bit agressive paints, do only use light coats, no wet ones.
For the rear wing, I drilled holes through the side plates into the horizontal elements and glued them on with small bolts, to make it more stable. I added belts and some wires, the rest is OOB.
For the color I used decanted TS55 with a little bit TS23 to make it a tad lighter and bluer.
Hope you like it.

I've always wanted to know, how do you wire up engines on a model of this size? How do you know where all the wires go?

Thanks :)
How do you know where all the wires go?
Ignition and fuel lines are straightforward and identical for all DFVs (look at the instructions of a 1/12 Tamiya), others can be seen on photos you can find on the net, and some... well, are a bit guesswork ;)

Hi Marco,
Congratulations on your job. Very nice building.
Is the wheels original of the kit or metal ?

Thanks again :)
Is the wheels original of the kit or metal ?I used the kit parts and painted them with Alclad Aluminium.
Those rear view mirrors look like they might've been a pain.Actually the mirror mounts are inlcuded in the box, completely assembled, the packaging is even used as a drill template. You only have to glue on the mirror itself.
