pcm/asd fuse blows above 4000 rpms

For approximately 6 months raising the rpms above 4000rpms blows the PCM/ASD fuse #5 (under the hood). the car immediately shuts completely down. replacing the fuse allows the engine to start and run normal. This happens going forward, reverse and park. it is as consistent as the sun rise. :-) 1999 ES 2.4L, 200700 miles young.
