GT-Odds (R33,R35)

These dual builds gave me an idea of doing one of my own. I've always loved the skyline so I figured I do a double GT-R build. The R33 and R35. They will both be Millenium Jade. Once I finish my Porsche GT1 build I'll really hit these hard. So far they've only been primed.

Happy Easter update. Beautiful day today so I chose to paint these beasts. First time using the airbrush and I must say I'm addicted now. First I used the toothpaste wash method.

Then time to dry. I don't have a dehydrator so I used the sun to let these babies bake.

For some reason the R33 is lighter than the R35. Still debating whether to make them exactly the same with Carbon Fiber or give them their own identities. Anyway thanks for looking

great progress there.and great choiche of colors.

Probably the difference in the tone of the 2 nissan is coming from the different primers used (think in first pics u coated theme in white and grey) so probably the lighter base had a different effect on the final coat paint.

Looking Great!!! The R35 should look sinister in that colour with some dark bronze wheels!!

Thanks guys, yeah corvette kid I would highly recommend it. I don't think I can go back to spray cans. GT40 I think you are right. I still have two more coats for each then comes the clear. And yes ashman it will look good with those wheels, but I'm tossing the idea of after markets wheels :/ the R33 will definitely be getting different wheels :)

Added last coats. Depending on lighting these cars go from green to goldish. Added a coat of Testors clear. Gonna add some more tomorrow. Which wheels??????

i'm going for the nismo rims for the 35. the 33's rim choice is spot-on :)

Looking great! The r35 GTR needs big wheels, nothing less than 20" will look right, so,
I reckon the Volk VRs (on the right) for the GTR &
The 19" RE30s for the 33
but thats just me...

Thanks guys. Khngmy it is Hobby Designs photo etch set. R35 under carriage coming to life. I think from now on ill stick to one build at a time lol

Added some carbon fiber to the side skirts and bumper. Wondering how to darken it, seems too light.

sometimes you don't need to have too many modifications to make your car looks cool, carbon fiber is what you need.

and i can see there is an Enzo behind!

Yeah the Enzo is on hold until I finish these, got a Ferrari bug biting me lol did some interior work. If you're going to use a Dremel make sure you know what you're doing lol luckily this came with both dashes for right and left handed drive. Was originally going to be a right hand drive but alas it will be a left hand. Enjoi

a few coats of smoke does the trick in darkening the CF a bit :)

Looking good, did you use clear through the air brush? and if so what kind?

I used Testors wet look clear from the can. I'm still learning with the airbrush so I'm not confident to spray clear yet lol sprayed three pretty heavy coats and its not really looking like some of the other models I've seen here lol :( gotta keep at it though right. More dash work and radiator
