Drivers seat back slips back under light preasure

A few days ago my drivers seat back started to slip when leaning back in it. When this happens if you use the seat controls to put it back into position it will not move forward only back like its already in its full upright position. It never occurred to me that you lean back in the seat so much for things like to get something out of your pocket, or adjusting the "boys" on a long drive.
Anyway is there a friction wheel or something that needs to be tightened. my thought is that Buick designed something in for the seat to be able to slip back to prevent it from breaking in case a large amount of pressure was placed on the seat back but i cant find anything in the manual showing this. I plan on taking it apart on my next weekend off.
Any ideas?

What year, do you mean the electric tilt mechanism in the 6 way seat or the manual tilt mechanism?

'97 and its power tilt.
Quick question did they even come with manual seats? I sold buicks for 3 years and never saw a manual? Doesn't mean they didn't make em, just curious.

My newer Buick has a manual seat back tilt and the usual 6 way seat. Look at the rear tilt mechanism something is broken or stripped, no short cut here.

Yep it's broke. the upper portion of the seat frame broke just above the bolts that connect it to the lower portion of the seat frame. I'm going to do another post to see if anyone know where i can get a replacement part. i hope i can i don't want to have to rig it or get one made.
