Hey guys,
I'm working on a capstone design project involving a large and flexible scraper blade. It would be great you could give me your opinions on what you are looking for in an ice scraper. Hopefully we can put your feedback to use and save everyone some time in the morning.

Extra feedback is also welcome!
Thanks

I think a collapsible ice scraper would be convenient. I don't want to have to carry around a large scraper.

I agree with this, ice scrapers are an industry that I really don't see there being any kind of innovations in. They're pretty much as good as they're going to get. That's not to say that you can't invent something that helps drivers remove ice, but the idea of the product being a scraper is pretty much filled with existing items that are produced by big companies.

Thanks for the feedback. How long does your car have to be on before it is safely de-iced? There is some serious energy consumption there, since I'm sure doesn't take as long to warm up.
Also, how do you deal with the side mirrors? They are crucial for the driver but can't just be warmed up.

Heated mirrors come on with rear defogger- all commanded by remote starter- Usually under 10 minutes to warm it up--
Works great in event of ice storm- when doors won't open and iced shut- and the door handle breaks- the heated interior eliminates this issue.
