Hey ya'll. I just started on all this street racing bit and just wondering if you have any ideas on what I can do with my car. 1988 Acura Legend to be exact. Already got the body kit, underbody lights, tinted windows, and the exterior accessories. Looking for some hints on engine mods.
Thanx

I have seen a turbo setup for V6's. Is thats what engine you have? or is it a 4 cylinder? Anyway, just do a search.

Lease the Legend stock. Buy a project car.

It's a 2.7 liter V-6. Decently fast considering it's age. What did you mean by a "project car?"

Buy a 2nd car that you can hook up on the side. Leave the legend alone. It's not worth your trouble, and you will have a 2nd car.

how much money do you want to spend?

Right now I don't have the money for a project car bc I am buying a house. But looking in the future I would like to get a Lancer Evolution and spice it up a bit. Just out of curiosity, what about a 1995 Acura Legend GS 6-speed manual I've got a friend of a worker selling one of those. Thanx

If i remember correctly their used to be a old legend or vigor motor that was turboed. I'm not sure though. Anyway, i wouldn't waste my time on that car. If so, just spray it, don't try to peace a kit together, in the end, i don't think you'd be very happy. The car is just to heavy to make it worth it to you.

You don't think i'd be happy with the '95 Legend either?

I'm really not sure. For street racing or just racing purposes in general, that's just not the car to choose. Just pimp that thing, get some baller rims and a nice system:wink: The car is gonna be really heavy and even if you make 100whp more than the guy you'll race, he'll probably beat you because his car will be that much lighter. Not to mention, those motors aren't meant to be high reving, they more for just cruising.

Yeah I know what you mean now. I have pretty much pimped it out already, well most of it came like it when i bought it. I've got a body kit, blackout tail lights, a super nice system, and 18" chrome rims. Thanx guys. I'm looking forward to buying my new car someday and coming here for help. I'm definitely set on the Lancer Evolution. Just out of curiosity, for those of you who have seen 2 Fast 2 Furious, what is the car that Brian drives in his first race? Also what the heck did he do to get it to shoot air out the sides?

That was a R4 Skyline, it looks like either he was purging his nitrous or it was his wastegate dump tube.

Dude, if you don't have money for a 2nd car, you don't have money to make your current one faster.

To get any kind of gains from that motor you would need some type of FI, and being that it has little aftermarket support, you'd have to go custom.

Just save up. Get a car that has a better platform to build up from.

Hey thanx guys. Now that I've been reading up on a lot of this sort of stuff I realize what it's gonna take. My goal is to wait about 4 years, so summer of 2007, and then I should have a ton of $$$ for a Skyline GTR, or something simliar like an Evo or Supra. Hopefully this will all work out. Thanx again, Andrew
