help car died

I was going checkout the races last night and maybe as a punishment from God my car died. I was driving about 60 in 3rd gear I believe and as the car was in motion my check engine light came on and the engine stalled. I pushed the car into a gas station and got a few people to try and boost me but that didn't work and I didn't think it would because my headlights were nice and bright. Now, a few days ago, I left my lights on all day at work and got a boost from my girlfriend's mom. Can this still be a factor in why my car is dead even though my lights turn on nice and bright and it doesn't seem like the battery is dead? The car turns over it just doesn't turn on. Could it be the fuel pump? Some guy at the gas station says he thinks the 'chain' fell off or some shit like that. Any help appreciated.

if its turning over its not the battery. i'd imagine it'd be the fuel. I'd check the fuel filter, could be clogged.
by the "chain" he probably ment the timing belt. check and make sure its still on there and turning.

you have to take out the rear seat, and the gas tank is right under the botton seat coushon. there are some screws to undo the fuel pump, becuase it sits in the tank, and the filter is attached in the tank.

First of all on Fuel Injection Civics the fuel filter is not under the seat, its on the firewall next to your charcole canister. And to remove the fuel pump you have to drop the gas tank and then pull the fuel pump from inside the tank, it can't be done from inside the car.
My first thought on this was perhaps your Alternator died. However if you have headlights still than I doubt this. If I had to put money on it I would say its something with your distributor.
The easiest way to test a distributor is unplug the spark plug and stick it back into the wire's boot, have someone hold the spark plug to the body metal of the car, and have someone else crank it. If you see a spark than you know the distributor is good.
To test for fuel you can undo one of the bolts for your fuel filter (which is on the firewall) and turn the key to the ACCII position which will turn on the fuel pump, if gas pours out you know the pump is good (don't worry it won't hurt anything).
Go from there. If that doesn't work maybe it could still be the alternator. How old is yours?

I'm sorry, i was thinking of another car. The fuel filter is in the engine compartment. its black (or rust depending on when the last time was you changed it) it is mounted to the firewall. got a doc from the manual, whats your email?

if it is cranking but won't start, it wouldn't be the alternator becuase you can run the car without a alt, but not long becuase you'd be running off the battery, and when the battery went dead you'd be sunk

Thanks for all the help guys but it ended up being the fuel pump fuse. I paid $85 fuckin canadian little loonies to tow the fucker home last night cuz of a fucking fuse. Oh well, lesson learned.

The next time something like that happens....
Turn your key to the Acc position (where all the lights on the cluster come on). You should be able to hear the fuel pump kick on. It sounds like a loud pc fan. The pump is located just behind the rear D/s wheel. If you dont hear anything at all, then you're getting no fuel.
Also, if you're car just dies for no apparent reason, it could be your Timing belt. Instead of trying to re-start the car like a retard, get out and make sure the belt isnt broken. If you attempt to crank a honda that has a broken timing belt, you have a very good chance of bending or breaking valves in your cylynder head. It only takes a few mins to check, and will save you big $$.
Its easier to figure out whats going on, when you can eliminate other variables. So many different things can make your car not start, not just the dist or alternator.
