Carbs tune-up

Hi everyone,
I own 1988 Kawasaki EX500 and I'm trying to tune-up my carburators.
I know there are 2 screws on the bottom of each carb which are used to regulate fuel supply. Can anyone tell me what I'm looking for when adjusting those screws (special engine noise, different response to throttle, etc.) One thing I noticed is that when I rev it up with removed air box, I see some mist going in the air box direction. Does it mean too much fuel supplied?
Thanks in advance.

Your carbs cannot be cleaned simply by adjusting the a/f mixture screws. You need to actually take them into a shop to get cleaned, or if they are in real bad shape, replaced.

I did clean it myself. I took it out, unscrewed every possible screw, cleaned all nozzels, soaked in every possible cleaner, blasted with high pressered air. So it should be all set unless it's just bad.
