Abflug Spiral.. Brz

Hi guys, I'm back again. I have this habit of making simple things complicated.

I got this kit mid last year. Had been wondering what exactly should I do about it. Thought of building it stock, but that would seem like a waste of this kit. Ideas like a STI version(probably fujishima would make a copy of that) or a convertible version(was quite tired of topless as I was on my S2000 build).

The amount of versions to this car is just too many in the market imho, to the point it seemed tough to settle for one. Everyone seemed nice in their own way, but none grabbed me by the collar and screamed "make me make me!" All until I first saw the spiral 86 by abflug. Abflug was known to make very wild creations(remember the zefi:r?) But this just stood out as simple and beautiful.

Ok, less text more pictures.

You could see here I've used blue tack to protect the pointed parts from blunting.

Ok just a little disclaimer. This build would probably take awhile. Have to prioritize my hobby/work/family time.. haha!

Thanks guys. Well, for the reference pictures. It's all the different photos of this car I could find on the net. Probably amounts to less than 20, and only 1 engine picture. Lol!

Nice to see a brz in progress. I kinda fiddled with mine, but am stompted at putting in a turbo kit. Its a lot harder in scale form than on 1:1 sometimes. Good luck.

Hey guys, guess this update should have came sooner. But Its a really frustrating project to get the left and right aligned, and look proportional. Halfway onto the works, realized it was really tiring me out and the effort just seems like its not paying its due. Modelling hours were rather dedicated onto more mundane tasks whenever I hit a stump in this project.

Anyways, I think I might take a break from this, and try something easier. Might come back sometime soon.

Left done, thought right would be easy. Fat hope!

that sure is the problem with a full-body conversion, it is hard to make both sides symmetrical. but it sure looks like it's coming along nicely :)
