!993 TransSport 3.8: Where the heck is the oil pressure sending unit, and what is the best way to access it? What size of OPSU socket does it take; 1", 1 & 1/16", or 1 & 3/16". Do I need the 3/8" or 1/2" drive; extra deep or other wise? The van has a gauge on the dash.

Very difficult to find:
You will have to take the right hand side front wheel and splash cover off.
It's just above the oil filter, but not easy to see.
It's mounted vertically on top of the oil filter but it's a bit obscured by the balancer and belt.
Find the wireloom to it and that will guide you.
You may also be able to see it from above between belt and engine block.
There's no space to use a socket and ratchet spanner.
Should you need to remove it you will need a spanner M27.
As there's little moving around space, you will need a spanner with a short arm.
I purchased a machine spanner (cheaper) and cut off about half the length of the arm.
That will give you enough space to move the spanner around.

Well GM forgot some when going from the "only 3.1" to the "also 3.8" ...a few pages even show diagrams relating to the north-south engine with the transmission in line with the engine...that's a "whoops" on their part
