Civic Vs Jetta

Im in no way saying my car is fast . But i blew away my friends jetta in a race. It was me 95 civic Basemodel 2 door VS 94 jetta basemodel ( both automatic) we were dead even at 50mph on the highway and both floored it , i was ahead of him by atleast 6or7 car lengths. HOW WAS THIS POSSIBLE!?It makes no sence to me.

I don't know the specs on the Jet you raced, but good job regaurdless!
