My 95 Seville SLS has been starting off in second gear and will not use first gear in any circumstance. I hooked it up to the tech 2 and received data showing that there were faults in both quad driver 1 and 3. also in the drive position shift solenoid a was not engaging. to single out the solenoid I used the scanner to command the vehicle in first gear and it went right in but when i leave the program it is back to second gear start. Now I do not want to single out the PCM and the car does have a throttle switch shorted code, a PRNDL switch failure, and a MAP sensor code. All I need help with is which issue should be my main concern.

okay i found out what it was it was an ABS fault in a faulty speed sensor tricking the PCM into thinking that the cars wheels are slipping and defaulting to second gear start to try and suppress this slipping

The ABS can be tricky man, glad you finally got it to work. I haven't had too many problems with mine. However mine is a 96 not a 95 and only has 21 thousand miles.

How much have you put into your car repair wise?
