Really could use your guys help on this one :)

Hey Guys!

I know this does not belong here, but i am not getting no response from the dead Grand Am forum and hoping somebody has a solution here :)


I have a 2003 Grand Am GT and I have the halo projection head light set up, turned my 2 head light system into a 4 head light system. I have put Hid lights in my fogs and my low and high beam. But the problem is when you switch over to high beam the lights are dim for a bit until they come on at full power, then same things happens when you go back to low beam. Is there a relay set up or something else i can do so that when i click on my high beams my low beams and fog lights stay on also?

I would suggest calling the manufacturer of the lighting system, there should be some sort of "help" number that came with the lights. Maybe they have run into that problem before and can suggest a repair...or they may say it's a normal condition.

i can try, just not sure if they could help me, when i had the stock lights in your fog lights are suppose to go off like they do, i know there is some kind of relay set op for the chevy trucks you can get to allow your fogs and high beams to stay on.

I know exactly what you are talking about. My Tahoe was the same way after switching to an HID setup. You will need to do a little research on the wiring diagram for the Grand Am to verify this but it might be the same way... The way you can do it on a Tahoe, you ground out the yellow wire just up from low beam bulb on drivers side and they stay on when you flip to high. I believe with the way this works, it pretty much bypasses (permanent grounding of the yellow wire) the low beam relay when the headlights are on then. Works great for letting the high beams warm up when switching to them without that sudden darkness that happens when you switch from low to high and vice versa. Hope that helps some... Another way I have seen this done is with jumpers in the fuse box. Of course jumpers in the fuse box can get sketchy sometimes...

yep, you know exactly what im dealing with, when you need to wait for the lights to warm up its dark for a sec lol, i will look into this and see if it is set up the same way by grounding the yellow wire, if i have a yellow wire. and i agree to sketchy for me to be putting jumpers in the fuse box.
