Rough idle and trouble codes

Hi,
after years to found out what the problem is with rough idle once a year, now the symptoms come in shorter time.
I record now on all drives the live data from obd. But two trouble codes was saved: P0404 and P1404
Should I replace the whole EGR valve or are the codes intact of other faulty systems?
The yearly symptoms are: fine start. After driving some miles and I brake the idle is rough. Acceleration is fine. After I shut off the engine and wait it runs fine again. But in last time I have bad starting after the symptom are there. And one times the symptoms are gone while driving.
Service lamp is off.
