i have a 2008 equinox, 3.4l, is it possable that my car battery could give my problems with range with the remote , like i have said before i need to be close to use it but if its running i can use it far away and sometimes my gauges do not go back and forth and make a viberation sound and my average speed resets and fuel ecom resets too.
thanks

It wouldn't hurt to replace the battery anyways. There's a good chance that it has eclipsed the five year mark since your vehicle may have been assembled in 2007, so it's about due. A low battery can always cause weird erroneous behavior in newer vehicles. However, I'd think that if the battery is truly bad, then it shouldn't be able to provide enough power for the largest power draw on any vehicle - the starter.

I do recall that the liftgate switch worked intermittently before our battery got bad enough that it couldn't start the car.

The only two batteries I would recommend right now are the Everstart Maxx H5 from Wal-Mart (http://www.walmart.com/ip/EverStart-Maxx-Group-Size-H5-Automotive-Battery/20531541) or AC Delco 47-7YR (http://www.parkerbattery.com/47-7yr.html) (OEM battery). There are numerous options in the group 47 size, but these are currently the only two aftermarket batteries that match the 650CCA rating of the factory battery in this size.

I installed the AC-Delco 47-7YR in December 2010. At that time the Everstart Maxx along with all the other group 47 batteries were all rated at 590-600CCA.

clean the battery terminals. have the battery load tested . replace the small battery in the remote .

with the engine off measure the battery volts should be 12.5-12.8 volts. if the voltage is 10.5 volts DC one cell is dead !
