Blender Door Location?

Haven't seen a post for a while. Anyway I bought a 1993 apv a while back and have had a few problems with it. The present problem is that sometimes I get heat and sometimes not. The Blower is blowing and I just changed the thermostat. Sometimes when I adust the temp lever from hot to cold and then back to hot again I will get heat. when I get heat it is Hot! Othertimes it is just lukewarm or cold. I believe that I need a new blender door actuator but I do not know where it is located. Is it below the glove box? Or do I have to dismantle the dashboard? I do not want to do that if that is the case. Otherwise the vehicle has not been too bad of a ride. And No rust! That is why I like these vehicles.Thanks in advance!

Before you do that, compare the two heater core hoses, when the vehicle is at normal operating temp, and you are not getting heat....if both hoses are hot, then it's probably the blend door/actuator....if one is cooler than the other, then you could have a coolant level or leak problem....

Just to add to what Tech II said, if one hose is hot and one is much cooler, you can try to backflush the heater core.

If you can get real hot air at times, I'd believe the coolant flow through the heater core is OK....very hard to reach the in/out hoses on that model ....
The blend door has been a culprit in several past threads...I'm searching and will come back with links...anyway it is in center under i/p, near to the floor. The electric flap motor is easy ..once you reach it..to change.
