Hi guys,
New user to this forum. Seems like this forum has some very useful information which brings me to my problem.
I have a 2005 Holden Rodeo V6 3.5 petrol engine ute. My ute developed quite a substatial engine knocking noise and blowing clouds of white smoke out the exhaust to the stage that you couldn't see behind you.
My ute is in near new contion with only 100,000 mls on it.

I removed the engine and rebuilt it. New Bottom End Bearings, New Crankshaft Main Bearings, New Piston Rings, New Timing Belt, New Belt Tensioner, New Head Gaskets, New Valve Stem Seals, Etc.

Put the engine back in and started it up.

Guess What??????????

Still blowing heaps of smoke. AAAARRRRGGGG

After talking to a couple of friends (Who run mechanical workshops) advise me that i could have broken a couple of rings on install.

Motor came out again, stripped down again to check rings. (All intact no broken rings)
Reassemble engine and put back in start up still blowing smoke.

Then i was advised by another mate that the top of the inlet manifold should be removed and cleaned up due to oil, foreign particles which could damage the engine again.
Removed the inlet manifold split it but was fairly clean inside. Cleaned, reassemble and reinstalled it.

Did a compression test all ports showing 190psi each.

Did notice a bit of oil on top of the pistons left back only. Right back is firing and running beautifully.

Dissconnected the engine exhaust pipes to find a bit of oil dripping from the exhaust.

More checks were done as well as disconnect EGR valve but to no avail. Still excessive smoke out of the exhaust.

I am running out of ideas or possible faults to check.

Wondering if any of you guys have had a similiar experience or any of you guys can recommend any ideas on how to fix this issue. Other than the smoke the ute is running great but i cant drive it because of the risk of getting defected by the Police or EPA.

I would appreciate any information or help.

Thanks Guys.

Welcome to the forum. How goes it down under? White smoke= coolant. Are you losing coolant also?
