rb20det help.

i jumped over here from the 240sx forum with a quick question. i may have found an r32 front clip for a good price but haven't found out the year of the clip yet. i'm not sure if its a red top or silver top rb20det. Did they start with the silver in 89? and can someone tell me the major difference between the red and the silver. i heard that the red is only about 165hp anf that the silver is 214hp, is that correct? i appreciate anyone that takes the time to help out. i'm trying to move on this clip (if its worth buying) in the next week.

The silver top is the way to go. Nissan fixed many problems and enhanced the RB20 quite a bit for the R32 series. That started in 89-92 and some late production 93's along with the R33's starting in 93.
