Progress: Civic Si w/ 1 Mean_B16!!

This is my first Revell Civic Si model I am working on and it's coming along pretty well. The outside is going to be left pretty much stock because I really like the way the 99-00 Civics look this way, so clean! I am doing most of my detail to the interior and especially the motor. This is the motor from the "Mean_B16 motor" thread I started a while back and it's looking sweet IMO. This one should be done in a matter of 2 weeks or so. The scooped hood will probably end up on the HB I am building w/ full turbo setup since the HB is wearing a bodykit. Hope you enjoy, feedback welcomed.

These wheels were pulled out of the Revell HB kit, I just sprayed them black.

BaNe: The insert as you call it is actually a Vtec controller scratch made from clear plastic and styrene backing. I just cut it to fit.:)

I just used my hobby knife and took my time. It helps to measure out the shape and use an ink pen to mark out the lines before you start cutting. This hood is turning out a little more aggressive than I think it should be for this car so it will go on my Revell HB and I will probably just go OEM on this car. You never really can tell with me though until the car is done.

here go some progress pics of my (annoying to build) Si. the outside is left mostly stock since I love these cars in that form. of course the "stock" bumper had to be customized to look this way w/o the fogs.
and I cut the lip off and added thickness to bring it down a little bit.

this shows a good shot of the almost complete motor, check out the throttle cable!

As you can tell from the pics I was going with all black wheels but then I tried out these gold wheels for shits and giggles, and DAMN!!!! I think these are the ones I will use! I would really like opinions of what you guys think on the wheels, Gold or black???????

I love the detail you've put into the kit... No more stock airbox:bloated::bigthumb:... I would have to say though that the front bumper is my favorite part... You cut out those fogs and the center grill... Awesome job... Go with the gold rims.:bigthumb:

Here's my Revell civic hatch motor... It has plugwires, a bigger VTEC solenoid a Mugen airbox, Mugen reservoir covers:tongue: and a fuelrail, but you cant see it:redface:

Great car and the enigne is awesome...
Go for the gold wheels and plz give just a bit less camber to the front and this car will be a masterpiece...
Love your work either it's puttywork or engine detailing...

I took these today, this shows the gold rims off nicely and shows how the rear tires sit perfect in the wheel wells IMO, A big problem with these cars. I still have work to do, like figure out how to replace the glass that I got a glue spot on, the ITR glass almost fits, it's just to narrow.

The final shots will be soon hopefully, as long as the rest of the build goes smoothly.

That is not actually in the grille, what you see is the radiator support showing through. It is just a weird angle is all, the grille is open.
