ok, i may have found a good price on an r32 front clip with an rb20det. i don't know which rb20 it is yet (silver or red, they don't tell the year), i'm still waiting for a reply. my only problem is that if i buy this clip, i wouldn't want to let that beautful r32 front end go to waste. please don't flame me for this, its just an innocent question. has anyone ever seen an r32 from end put on a 240sx coupe like my 91. i know the front and rear fenders will look different tho seeing that the r32 is a bit beefier looking. i saw an r32/sileighty (180sx w/ r32 front) once on an aussie web site and it looked great. i had huge fender flairs on it. if i can find that pic again i'll post it, i know you guys will like it. just give me your straight opinion, its not like i'm going to do this, i may not even get the clip.

wow, that was surprising gentle, i cringed when i saw that you where to first to respond. i'm still waitin for some shit for askin the front end swap question.:D . do you know much about the rb20det. i thought that there were two: a red and a silver and the the red was only like 165hp and the silver was 214hp. is this correct?

Brian has a picture of it...it looks great.
Id say the case of whether front end conversions look good is a case-by-case basis
Signal Auto S15 front looks awesome
Ricky Chu S15 front looks like ass

i looked into it more and decided not to do the rb20det. i'm gonna stick with my plan for a ka24de(t). however, i'm still interested in the front end swap. anyone know any sites i can contact about this or how difficult it might be?

I personally think the s14 front doesnt look right. It looks too big for the car.
Same with s15 front,looks/is too wide and looks funny.
I'm sticking to my pop up lights...The only headlight conversion I would do is the low profile projector conversion.
Take the conversion on the JDM RICE car for example...

I have to agree with you on the S14 looking too big for teh 180sx. Look at how the A pillar meets the front fenders.....
However I do think the S15 front end is awesome on the 180sx, it looks like it came that way from the factory and makes one of the best looking cars anywhere I think. On that same not the S15 front end on a S14 looks a lil wierd and too small for the S14. Look at Ricky Chu's car for example lol. It seems like you have a big car from a pillar back, then a real scrawny nose....... just doesn't go together
The s13 and S15 are more related in size.

If the front clip is an R32 it will have the 214hp Silver "top" or valve cover RB20 motor in it unless it has been changed. Odds of that are pretty good as many times I've seen R32's come in with RB25DET motors in them. Now that would be a steal for you.
By the way is it a complete front clip? In other words still have the suspension and brakes on it? If so your really in the butter zone dude as wait until you see the size of the 4pot brakes. Of course that is if this clip is a turbo Type M model.

I agree,S15 does look better on the fastback. The front still looks a bit wide though:(
Owell
Some Abroad-limited widebody fender flares for the rear would solve that problem;)
