Hello from the UK

Hello all

I live in the UK and want to extend my forum use to the US as I sometimes get to visit family in NJ.

My cars are both very British and great fun!

You'll understand the MG I guess but the TVR might be a mystery to some of you as American cars are a mystery to me.

Welcome to AF , you have two great looking cars ! Yes , the MG is a known quantity as is the TVR name but I haven't seen this particular TVR model . It is quite becoming . I have seen many of the older TVR 's but this one must be quite new ?

My TVR Sagaris is 2005 and the last model to be produced before TVR went to the wall! :crying:

Love your cars. I see a fair number of the MGs at car shows and cruise-ins that I go to. I had a thing for Jaguars a few years back - went through 3 of them before I got 'em out of my system.

I drive the midget around North Yorkshire which is great countryside for a classic.

Back in the late 60's, I had a buddy in Cincinnati who had a car that looked like yours. Got to ride in it a couple of times - it was really fun. My fun car is now a stock 1948 Chevrolet Fleetmaster 2 door Town Sedan. Its really slow with only 90 HP, but, I enjoy driving it to shows and cruise-ins around here.

I know what you mean, the TVR is great for a quick blast and if I'm seeking attention! The Midget is great fun at legal speeds.

Both cars are off the road for our Winter but will be back around March time.

Just Googled your Fleetmaster, now that is a cool car :smokin:

I'm looking forward to Spring too - so I can get the Fleetmaster back on the road. This Winter I hope to get some work done on her - she's got some issues with her torque tube drivetrain. She likes to hop out of 3rd gear at speed.

True - you'll have that with a 65 year old car. A 40 - 50 mile trip to a cruise-in or show is an adventure in her. It's hard though not to grin when I get her on the interstate, get her up to 60 (comfortable cruising speed with her 4:11 rear gears), and listen to the nice loud exhaust blat that her 216 CID inline OHV 6 makes at speed. Anyway, I keep making her more and more reliable as I continue to fix stuff. I've come a long way in the 2 years I've owned her.
