blower motor resister/1992 lincoln contiental

Went thru car wash and blower stopped working. two days later blower came on for 20 seconds, day later came on again 15-20 second. so not the blower. check fuses under hood and in fuse box. Now i think it is resistor. How to prove. and how to get to it. lincoln contiental. 1992

Normally the resistor is bypassed when blower is set on high.

thanks, dealer want to charge me $600 to replace this part. So if i push wheel all way up on dash that is setting blower on high right? if not this resistor what other part it could be?
