My girlfriend had the car, a '96 Lincoln Town Car, ran the radio a long time while the car was off, and wore down the battery til dead.
She got someone to give the car a jump, and ever since the following things aren't working;
1) the (stock) radio,
2) all steering wheel control functions (which include cruise control, radio, and climate control adjustments),
3) all power seat functions for both seats (which controls are on the seats and drivers side door arm rest),
4) pwr mirrors, and the pwr door lock switch (both controls are on the drivers side door).
The pwr windows (on the drivers side door) and the auto (door) locks when you start the car do work.
For the radio, it just says 'phone' on the screen, related to the fact that there is an OLD car phone in the front passengers arm rest, and I believe that when the car phone was used it was able to be used hands free via the stereo speakers. The on/off for the radio is controlled by pushing and releasing the volume control knob. I got this car a month ago and the on/off hasn't worked since I got it. I believe it's just worn out. When pressed it doesn't stay in. Prior to the jumping the car this didn't present a problem because the radio would go off when the car was turned off. Pressing on any of the buttons, like trying to select band to use the radio does nothing except when you press the 'tape eject' the screen where is says 'phone', will say 'no tape'. When the key is out (pwr is off) the radio screen STILL says 'phone', you can turn the volume up and down and it shows the volume amount. If you turn it up, you can hear a little bit of static.
This is putting a constant small drain on the battery. Jump started on 12/08/12, car sat 2 days, and battery was dead. After buying a new cheap battery is when I discovered the radio continuing to display 'phone' when the car was off, and the other things not working. After being parked over night with the new battery, the next morning, it was dead too. Had to get another jump from a neighbor, no additional problems. After running the car and driving a while, the battery gets recharged and will start.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thank you and God bless.

I don't think a '96 Lincoln has it's interior features computer controlled.
Find the fuse box and look for blown fuses....to stop the radio from drawing power you can remove the radio fuse.

I've revised my first post - please read again for a better explanation.
My girlfriend, whose is handy and used to be a tow truck driver (if you can believe that) looked for blown fuses after discovering the problems. She only found one blown fuse under the hood that was related to the pwr seats. She replaced it, but it didn't seem to help or change anything.
UPDATE; I went to see a friend who, by messing with the units in the trunk that is related to the radio and phone, was able to get cut the power to the radio so it didn't say 'phone' anymore and constantly pulling current on the battery even when the car was off.
MY QUESTION; Is it most likely that somehow jumping the car burned up (shorted out) some wires which has caused all the aforementioned items to stop working since all the other fuses seem to be okay?
