Rear Doors Don't Open From Inside

As mentioned in a different post, I have just purchased a 2009 Ford Crown Vic Interceptor a few weeks ago. One of the few things I would like to fix is the rear doors. I want to have people in the back have the ability to roll down their own windows and open their own doors. I have plugged the wires, that were in the armres,t back into the button but still doesn't work. Im assuming the fuse might also be missing from the fuse box but I have not looked yet and when looking through the owners manual I could figure out which fuse it would have been or its place.
The other issue with the doors is people getting out on their own rather than me feeling like their limo driver or something...lol So is there a kit I can buy to get the doors in full working order? If I take it into a ford dealership will/can they fix it?
Any help on either of these would be much appreciated. Thanks.

sounds like they removed the piece that links the handle to the cable pull torx head screw from that piece and pop it out should have a metal piece that is hooked to cable

So is there anyway I can order these parts? Would I just contact my local Ford dealership to have them ordered? Any idea how much I might be looking at for everything?
Thanks for your help

Go to www.fordparts.com and search for the parts you need. I don't know about the pricing though. If you get the part number, it can be crossed to see how many vehicles it will fit. Then a salvage yard may be an option. A lot of times the parts are inside the door panel just tied to the frame. Good luck.

Merry Christmas way2old.
If your lucky they just dropped the linkage or clips in the bottom of the door or they merely disconnected them and they're just hanging there.
Merry Christmas to all.

I don't know anything about the Crown Vic or the police interceptor, but the Taurus cars have a child safe latch on the rear doors that can be flipped so the doors can't be opened from the inside. A little lever just under the door latch, accessible with the door open. I don't know if his car would have those or not, it would be something to check.

For the rear doors, pull the carpet away from the sides of the trunk to see if the factory stashed the rods for the doors there. That's where I found them in my 2006 P71, along with both door guard strips for both front doors.

In my cruiser, which is a 2009, it has the child proof locks and we simply flip those rather than removing anything inside the door. Like an earlier poster mentioned, the lever is accessible with the door open.
