99 Max SE VS. 02 3.2TL

hi all....it's one of those questions again.....:D
what do u guys all think?....i think it'll be pretty close, since his weighs

if he's in a type s, you'd beter be modded.
my friend has an '01 cl type S with the shift-tronic dealie with an intake on it and i think i could have beaten him with just my catback and intake but since I got my y pipe i know i'll whoop him.
if it's a regular tl you'll take him. 227 hp + a 3400lb body=sluggish compared to the max. not to mention the non type s's have some pussy vtec, if any

The 6-speed's in the type-S are sluggish at best.

THe max should pull ahead in the end if the Max is 5-speed.

Actually, the max would have the advantage off the line. At the end the Acura is going to be coming on strong, well into VTEC territory, especially if it's a Type S.

My dad has a 99 3.2, non S. That sucker hauls arse. But if you have decent mods I see no reason why you shouldnt beat him.

i know for a fact that a cl-s 6 sp will piss on any pre 2k2 maxima, stock for stock. i test drove one b4 i got my max, and it was nearly as fast, the tranny is fucking nice. 3.2 non s will lose to max, assuming same tranny types

automatic max's are slow. 5 speeds of your generation however is pretty evenly matched with a 4th gen prelude v tec. but if its a 6 speed type S, i'm even afriad that you will lose to the acura. even though the 4th gens were the second fastest maxima's ever.

what would be the 1st fastest gen??

Me thinks the 2k2 5 spd maxima be the fastest :rolleyes:

I raced my cousins 00 3.2TL in my 97 Maxima and he just pulled away from me after like 60mph.

yes, the first fastest maxima's are the 3.5 liter 6 speeds from the 5th gen. the second would be the 3.0 liter 5 speeds from the 4th gen. (they are actually faster then the 3.0 5 speeds from the 5th gen becusae they are much smaller) and the 3rd fastest would be the new 3.5 6speed 6th gens. and the 4th fastest would be the 222 hp 3.0 5 speed 5th gens.

it was stock vs. stock....im sure i`ll beat him if i was a stick tho....
we both used the brake torque technique.....i had a better launch due to
better tires stock Eagle 215/55/R16, his was 205/60/R16
i pulled about 1/3 of a car length on him at the end of 1st gear then right after i changed to 2nd he was right beside me.....then....:eek:
he passed me after 110km/h........well....it's okay....when i save up for the 5 spd tranny swap.....he'll be eating my dust....:biggrin: :thefinger

A few engine mods and you can tear up an acura TL. If I had headers and exhaust I would be beatin them in my 2.5 Altima.

LOL riiight, I wouldnt need anymore luck then the guy in the maxima since I was ahead until the later part of my third gear which is about high 70's.

LOL, I was simply saying a max with 1-2 mods could probably beat them, they are not fast. They do have a 5 speed auto which helps them, but heavy and under powered for their weight.

Then once again someone says something dumb, but I cant do anything bout that can I.

LOL dont worry. I wasnt tryin to start anything, I said he would start to lose after 60 and look what happened, he posted that the next day. My Altima held up a little better which was my point to saying he wouldn't need to many mods to make it fast since the v6 benefits better then my 4 cylinder.
