Seems to be a good alternative for the GTO kit's rims:

Nice set of wheels, though I don't understand why you would need a metal rim if you don't see once assembled and painted?!
They look really nice, but I don't understand why every manufactor sell wheelsets without tyres....?
Kris.
Not every manufacturer. ScaleProduction sell most of their wheel sets with rubber tires: Look here (http://www.scaleproduction.de/index.php?language=en&cat=c10_Wheels-Tires-1-24-Wheels-Tires-1-24.html&XTCsid=6d5d128afdcb7abb61d9a8d72e000a2d&cPath=10&;).
With some of the sets you can even choose if you want slicks or treaded tires.
And: you can even buy some of the tires separately :naughty:

For those who haven't seen them yet, T2M is also offering some OZ and PIAA wheel sets too... along with their original Hammann 458 wheels.
But the best part is they are offering a modular system where you can buy the wheel centres you want, then the rims seperately..... available in atleast 6 different widths so you can mix and match to suit your requirements and the prices look pretty reasonable IMHO.
Of course you can also buy the wheel sets complete in deluxe, advanced etc detail levels as with the Hammann wheel sets.
Looks like I will be selling more kits from my stash to finance a whole bunch of these..lol

Finally received the BBS advanced set from T2M. Rims spokes need a bit of cleaning but the general impression is more than ok. Rims outer dia. is 23.1 mm, they nicely fit the Aoshima tires. Bye :)

These have my interest...
I just received a few of the basic sets this week. You don't necesserily have to but the top of the range, complete sets to have a nice set of wheels either.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/385362_4185836725796_1886977148_n.jpg
For less than $4 a set (for 5 centres and 5 wheel mount adaptors) I bought a set of PIAA F301 (simplified) and a set of BBS (simplified).
The aluminium rims were only about $6.50 for a set of four but just make sure you buy the correct ones for your needs. Some have a nice finished, rolled outer lip while others have a squared off lip meant for fitting behind the BBS faces.
For the BBS's you dont really have to buy the aluminium rims though, you could simply cut the backs off some kit rims for the rear half, since they will be painted anyway. These will look awesome on Revell's 599 GTO.
These are mounted in a set of Tamiya Enzo tyres but the also fit just about every type of larger Aoshima tyres that I tried.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-b-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/580643_4185836405788_275250316_n.jpg
Here are the PIAA F301's at the top and Hammann's at the bottom..... both with Aoshima tyres.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-f-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/408414_4185835925776_402011168_n.jpg
You can also just buy the rims and cut some faces from kit wheels (then use the remaining rear part to put behind the BBS F1's)
The BBS LM centre on the lower left is from a Hasegawa BMW touring car and the one on the lower right is from an Aoshima RalliArt Lancer Evo X.
https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash3/37089_4185835725771_1043146409_n.jpg
I really love the fact that T2M has made these components available seperately so you can mix and match to your own tastes..... and the price.

Most of the modern 19-20" tires. Here some...

F12's tires are hardly stretched onto and look really ugly. For the rest, I agree with viper: the simplified set, which is really cheap, allow the modeler to get a fine result with a minimal effort in term of modification.

These look great!
I still wish companies would more regularly tap that 21" 22" barrier.
T2M has some great stuff out there for sure and they seem to be doing it right.

Thanks for showing the variations. Perhaps someone can advise me about sizes and looks. I'm trying to get the effect of a deep dish painted rear rim like some tuner Murcielago's had.
Unfortunately with a new comp windows version I'm trying but having no luck posting the googled image. (my fault, not the OS)
But I'm guessing most of those looking at this thread understand the look.
the car is bright green and has painted thin matching green outside rims, with black centers. Dont care so much about the style of center, just the look of the finished effect. Not sure of the size even. The Fujimi Lambro kit will be the base and I'm hoping these two part wheels will allow me to paint the green then drop in the centers and possibly use the fujimi tires. Not even sure if the aftermarket wheels are the same size. Again it's the effect. not needing the exact version.
Any help or partial answer and I'd be grateful.
thanks

So the PIAA and Hamann faces fit inside the aluminum rim without modding?
Yes they do, they're a nice snug fit inside the rim.
The only minor issue I have is that all of t2m's rims are the same depth, no matter what width they are.
You can fit the centre to the outside for an almost flush rim or fit it from behind for a small amount of dish.
Hopefully some deeper dish rims will be available soon.
Regards, Dan

Well I recieved my wheels and Murcielago kit yesterday. If you are building something like that, then the narrow 10mm rims are needed for the front... 12's for the rear. Also many of my wheels from other kits slide up inside from behind. Even the T2M inserts can carefully be inserted with no sanding so a touch of sanding should make it an easy mod. That would allow deeper insets as required. The deluxe versions have 5 packets of perimeter screws and center badges and valve stems. Very nice and even perfect if you want to invest that much time and money. The center inserts are perfectly cast. No flash, nice uniform surface. A little concerned that the tires stretch over tightly. Will they break with time? Overall these are fantastic products!! If you want painted rims or bright aluminum rims with painted centers..plus you have a car that can handle 20" dia wheels, these are the nicest I've seen.

I purchased a Hamann Ferrari wheel set from them and can second that they produce a top quality product.
