I am wanting to change my tranny mount and the torque strut mount on my '96 LSS. The rubber on the tranny mount broke and the torque strut mount rubber appears to be deteriorated, probably from a oil leak I had for a while.
Well I am planning on driving up on ramps and using a floor jack to lift the engine an inch or so. Then remove and replace the mounts. Will this method work? Any other advice?

Should be pretty straight foreward, just be sure to keep the trans supported before removing the mounts!

Jackstands are safer than ramps for this kind of work. There is less chance of unloading the front tires and having the car shift or roll when you move or support the driveline.

Considering these mounts are on the opposite side from one another, should I use the jack more on one side replacing that mount then re-adjust the jack more to the other side and then replace the other?
