So, I got a new 2013 Elantra GT with the base package which includes a simple radio with Bluetooth, XM, MP3 and Hands free controls. The Car also has BluLink. Since almost Day one, the car has had an issue with the radio. When you start the engine, the radio plays for a second, Buzzes and then reboots to play music normal. There is only about a 5% chance that this will happen. Hyundai tells me t that they need this problem to be re-producible before they can do anything else with it. They have already replaced the radio. Any other ideas? Has anyone else had this issue with this radio? If so, what was the fix?

I am having the same issue. Three days after I bought my car (in Sept), my radio went completely dead. I drove it in and they said the switch in the fuse box just needed to be fixed and gave me some line about new cars/computers needing a warm up period. Since then, my radio resets randomly when I start the car. In January, my car was completely dead so I jumped it and drove it in. They said they couldn't recreate the problem, no issue with the battery and if it happened again to call roadside and have it towed in. Same thing happened 4 days later, had it towed and after 3 hours of diagnostics they decided the battery was a dud and replaced it. They said this should fix the radio issues. Forward to March, radio issues have still been happening at random but now my driver's side heated seat doesn't work. I brought it in last Friday and they said there is an internal malfunction and needed to order a part for the seat. They said they cannot recreate the radio issue and there is nothing they can do. I called Hyundai Customer Care and opened a case, explained all of the issues. They called the dealership who told them to tell me if it happened again to bring it in. It happened that night so I brought it down Saturday morning and this time the service dept manager came out to talk to me. He was very rude and said there was no reason to call Hyundai and told me to bring it in Wednesday. I asked if they had a loaner to give me and he said no. I dropped it off this morning and they said it might be the heated seat malfunction causing this but they won't know until after they fix it. I asked what happens if they can't find the problem/fix it today and they said I would need to leave it for a few days. I said at what point do you start replacing wiring, the radio, etc and he said they don't just go in and fix things without knowing what is broken. A lot of back and forth here but basically I don't expect to get very far with them. I told them if this wasn't resolved I was filing a complaint with the DMV and going to the state (CT) to go the lemon law route and he told me it wouldn't apply because it's not a safety issue. I advised that it would appear to be an electrical issue since my battery has been dead, seat is dead, radio doesn't work properly and at any time anything else can stop working and he said he didn't agree. We will see what happens today and then go from there. I may even call local news stations that do special reports on consumer issues. This is ridiculous. Good luck with your car. I wish I never bought mine.
