How do people afford mercedes?

there really expensive to buy first and second you have to get prenuim gas and the repairs cost double or triple then say a ford would. like my uncle said it cost $150 just for an oil change and 1600 for 4 tires u kidding me?

Most of the newer ones are leased. Essentially they are rented, for 3 years at a time. Lots of people cannot scrape together the cash to buy one outright, but they can do $600 a month for a fancy set of wheels.

An expensive car entails expensive repair costs and maintenance. And if I got money, I'd do grab an MB! MBs are one of the safest cars on earth (alongside Volvo), i think. My boss's SLR was hit by an 18 wheeler, with the best ABS, he only had a minor bruise on his left arm and the car looked like a crumpled paper up front. It's not only the name, specs and its great look, it's a great investment for safety.

Kind of off-topic here, but Volvos are not any safer than other cars. The smaller Volvos do worse than average in their category. The larger Volvos are safer, but are an old design and do not benefit from the latest safety innovations.

Mercedes...... yes, very safe. Expensive trouble, too, but very safe.

Maybe they just have better jobs. It's really not that hard to own one or pay for it if you work hard and earn more money.

Bluetec is what Mercedes calls their cars equipped with Diesel engines. Keep your grades up - maybe that Mini Cooper dream will come true.

Lol, one wouldn't buy Mercedes if he can't afford it. Simple! :p

If you have enough cash to purchase one, why not? But prior to get one, just be sure to have car insurance for it so that it will cover all what is needed and when bad circumstances will occur to you and to your car.

To be a bit more technical without delving into the actual principles, BlueTEC is a process that Mercedes came up with that allows them to increase the output (horsepower) of their diesels by using a more sophisticated emissions control system. It's a 4-step process and does add to the cost of the car. It also requires the use of "diesel fluid", a urea-water mix that is injected into the exhaust stream as needed to help control the level of oxides of nitrogen in the exhaust.
