I recently had to replace the left axle u-joint.After the job was done I was concerned about the axle seal leaking. After a few weeks I ended up driving on the highway and when I came home I noticed an oil leak from the axle housing. So,it appears that the seal needs to be replaced.I am looking for any tips for doing this job. From what I see,it appears that the diff carrier needs to be removed to gain access to the seal. How does the right intermediate axle shaft get removed?Must the right outer axle shaft be removed, followed by the intermediate shaft to take the carrier out of the housing?I don't think this is going to be easy.It will be time consuming for one seal.Assistance would be greatly appreciated.
