Transmission Question

I have a 2002 Honda Odyssey. When it gets cold sometimes when the car is started in the morning and put into gear it jerks a bit. There are no other problems noted. I took it to a local transmission shop and they are telling me the third gear is shot. I was not having any problems with that. The van was smooth as silk except for the jerk when first shifting into gear. I think I am being taken:nono:. What are your thoughts?
