Replacement fuel line safety

I have a 95 Audi 90 quattro. My fuel lines rusted out. I want to replace them with proper 30R9 Goodyear fuel injection hoses. I am somewhat worried about their heat resistance under the hood. Is heat going to be a problem? I will follow the old steel lines. They would come pretty close to the exhast at some points.

The stock fuel lines have steel braided rubber hoses for the final part. Do I need to keep them or can I run the new hose up to my fuel rail?

I'd recommend getting the fuel line replacements from the Audi dealership. It might be more expensive than other sources but Audi designed your vehicle and considered the risks involved in fuel line placement as well as the proper fuel line construction materials . Just my :2cents: ! Good luck !

you sure a dealer of your make of car doesn't have a replacement

if an aftermarket supplier list the replacement for the gas lines you should feel confident they no what they are saying- some issues with replacement lines- you do know why your OEM's have braiding on the outside

Aftermarket metal lines listed by suppliers are straight lines that are bent to fit.

Steel braiding could be there for heat and mechanical protection and to prevent expansion. 30R9 usually have some king of internal braiding to reinforce the hose. I could easily reuse my OEM flex lines, but I rather not. Their condition could be pretty bad.

Yes, only the fuel lines are rusted from the tank all the way to the front. Weird, since everything else looks really good. Brake lines are minty. Probably S/S.
