Hi To All,
I have an intermittent no start issue with my 2001 DOHC. Only one click then nothing. Will work the next day with no problems. Remedies in the last six months include a new (rebuilt) starter and ignition switch. Connections are tight and bright. Battery has been tested twice at AutoZone as good. Thinking I might need another starter? Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Do you have a multimeter, if so when this happens if you can check the voltage at the starter. You could have a bad cable going from the battery too starter.

Is it a rather loud click, and not just a simple relay click? A rather firm click usually indicates a problem internal to the starter itself. Confirming that voltage is getting to the starter and starter solenoid would be a good step, as mentioned in the post above.

It appears that the negative cable was shot. Repalced the terminal and the car starts. Thanks for your input.
