Hi Guys,

This is the first time Im owning a car (Toyota Camry 2000). honestly I have no idea about car maintenance. I would like to know what are the things which I need to check regular. I don't drive too much may be 3 miles a day..

Appreciate your help!

Actually all maintenance suppose to be listed in your maintenance brochure, it you got one.

I believe your 2000 is like mine 2004.

Oil change - every 5,000 miles.
Air filter - 30000. (I do every 10000-15000)
ATF - I have "lifetime" but I prefer at least every 50000.
If you have red antifreeze it needs to be changed every 30000 miles, but I am not sure about that.

Google for the timing belt. I have a chain on my Camry, and you may have a belt that needs to be changed as well.

I hope this helps,

Sam

The timing belt was to be changed every 90,000 miles on this car.

Were you able to obtain any maintenance records for this car? If not, I would recommend changing all fluids so you will have a baseline on when things need to be changed again. All fluids include oil and filter, transmission fluid (and differential if it is separate), engine coolant, and brake fluid flush.

If you didn't receive an owner's manaul for this car I would try to purchase one off of Ebay. They are a good source of information, especially if you know little about your car.

Good luck with your new car.

Mike
