Headlamp and interior lights delay.

When you use the key fob to lock the car the headlights and interior lights stay on for a few seconds. Is that time adjustable and if so how do you do it? Thanks for any help!

What year is your Taurus? And have you checked the owner's manual?

It's an `04 and I looked but couldn't find anything in the manual.

The interior lights are controlled through the Smart Junction Box on the 2004. If the exit delay for the lights is programmable and you don't have an "information center" display with settings for the oil change interval, easy exit, autolamp delay, etc., then it's probably only adjustable via a professional scan tool.

I downloaded and scanned through the owner's manual after not finding any specifics in the service manual. The owner's manual seems to only speed to the illuminated entry and not the illuminated exit. The headlight and parking light activation for the illuminated entry can be programmed through a cycling of the ignition key, but that is just for those lights coming on, nothing about the length of time, and nothing about them working when the car is locked.

Is this a factory remote keyless entry system?
