so new problem truck doesnt start unless you give gas at same time it runs as long as your foot is on the pedal let go it drops below 1000 rpms and shuts down
you can rev it fine and no engine light so there is no fault
so what is wrong with this truck now?
its a 2000 ram 1500 v8 5.2 engine

I'd suspect the fuel pressure.
Check out page 1489 of the manual.

i read skimming but didnt read it all the online book
says fuel filter/regulator is in gas tank does that mean u gotta drop the tank? or can you get at it from a side or so?

i figured if the fuel pump was bad or filter it would shut down while reving engine right? not once you let off the gas pedal
i figured it be the fuel regulator? sinec if you put your foot on gas and you can keep it running at 1000 rpms or less as long as u dotn let go
but then i read somewhere it could be the throttle body sensor??? like its stoppped doing it now and runs fine
so what odds it be a sensor as if it was fuel filter it stop working riight?

Wow, my poor old brain is forgetful...
Take some carb. cleaner on a clean rag and wipe out the throttle body.
I've read that crud near & around the throttle blade upsets the thing.
A TPS issue should set a code and the IAC valve too.

That would be the Idle Air Control valve, Pg. 1528-1530...mounted near the throttle body & has 3 or 4 wires connected. It responds to the computer signal to maintain engine idle speed.

or can computer aided software that monitors be able to tell me?
as i have a HP Tuner that has scanner software for live data etc

I'm sure there's a trouble code for a failed IAC...P1294
Sorry, I don't know the ranges.
