Dome light fuse blowing

I've got an 02 Tahoe that keeps blowing fuse under the hood to dome lights/ power moon roof. Only add on is remote start that was professionally installed two years ago. It only last minutes or a few days til it re blows. Checked all I can think of. Any ideas please. Dave

Ok I'm noticing the little speaker above driver seat overhead for hands free phone there's a buzzing noise. Hard to see but there's a motor of some kind above headliner buzzing. Wondering what it's for an if could be surging circuit

You need to start unpluging everything on that fuse circuit untill you find the short.
Any thing on te circuit not working right?

That is correct mt. Only thing is before it would go few days before it would blow. If it stays consistent blowing immediately mabe elimination will work. Any idea what is above my head in ceiling humming at the mic location?

let my tell you that the power to these lights is always on. the lights light up when the switch connects the neg/ return side to body ground.

this is a circuit that goes to alot of places. being always supplied with 12volts on this wire any metal cutting into the wire will cause this. at some point it will melt threw and you will loose a light operation.

my experience is under the dash to start . as you mentioned you had some non oem electrical installed this is one major reason this may have occured not that the OEM installed screwed up on the wire run.

I found also that the drivers door can also be a short area. the sharp metal will cut into the wire . the door has lots of movement shock action.

One time I had to use a magnifier to see the short especially with the 15amp fuses whiich blow very easy .

so you will need good lighting also.

If you find it post back . also why you feel this was caused.
