Hi guys,
the Nissan Skyline is finished, so I need to start a new project.
I picked up this Aoshima AE86 from my pile. I have it already a few years in my stash and it's my first modelkit I ordered overseas from Japan.

The original Buddyclub wheels are already used on a Honda Civic last year, but I had these SSR MK2 wheels from Aoshima saved for the AE86.

There is just one colorscheme for this car and that's the Panda paint. Black and white! The wheelcenters will be red.

I hope to start it soon, cause I want to finish the Isetta and Messerschmitt first.

I'm constantly amazed by how many models you have going at the same time and progressing together!
Got a similar kit in my stash also, will be good to see how it builds up

I always build two models at the same time as t works the best for me. I can focus on one of them. Normally I never have three projects at the same time.

New update. First I made the panellines a bit deeper. Then I painted the primer, and used a black marker for the panellines.
http://modelbrouwers.nl/media/albums/245/6538/paint%20(1)%20(Custom).jpg
Then I painted it with Ibis White (AUDI), and did the same with the panellines between the layers.
http://modelbrouwers.nl/media/albums/245/6538/paint%20(2)%20(Custom).jpg
Now it was time for the masking. It took a lot of time, but it payed back when I removed the masking tape :D

http://modelbrouwers.nl/media/albums/245/6538/paint%20(6)%20(Custom).jpg
Meanwhile I painted the wheelcenters in primer, and followed with some revell 53 red. It will get some clear when I clearcoat the body.
I also made a custom tailwing. Just a simple but effective spoiler.

True, very true! Indeed, masking is a time consuming job, but I can tell you that every time I remove the masking tape from a model, I feel just like a 3 years old child who opens a Christmas present!
Keep up the good work, mate!

The body is polished and yesterday I painted the windowtrims.

Last days I completed the Supra, so I had to focus again on the AE86.
First thing I did was adding the lights.
http://modelbrouwers.nl/media/albums/245/6538/lichten%20(1)%20(Custom).jpg
http://modelbrouwers.nl/media/albums/245/6538/lichten%20(2)%20(Custom).jpg
I finished the engine part, but I wasn't happy. The original air manifold was just an ugly thing. So I separated the engine and start again with my own idea. I wanted to add ITB's. I made them from aluminium tube (electronical connectors) and I also added red sparkplugwires.
I also scratchbuilded a strutbar. I made it from some wheelspacers, evergreen plastic and a steel rod. I really like it :D
http://modelbrouwers.nl/media/albums/245/6538/lichten%20(3)%20(Custom).jpg
http://modelbrouwers.nl/media/albums/245/6538/lichten%20(4)%20(Custom).jpg
http://modelbrouwers.nl/media/albums/245/6538/lichten%20(5)%20(Custom).jpg
I had to cut the chassis at several points to fit the wheels and get a nice lowering. I also cutted away some material of the wheels cause they are way to wide.
I removed the molded exhaust a bit cause I want to make my own exhaust.
http://modelbrouwers.nl/media/albums/245/6538/lichten%20(6)%20(Custom).jpg
And a dryfit with the engine and the stance:

Job WELL done!
That paint job looks super and the panel lines look very natural. It seems that is hard to do on a white car, but you have done it very well.
Awesome Kris!

Next step was the interior.
First I added some plastic to the back of the seats. Then I primered every part.
I decided to go for red/black combination. I think it suits the car and it looks cool cause the wheels are red also.
While I was searching on google on interiorpics I saw this picture with a stock option kouki/zenki interior. I wanted this on my model!
http://www.hachiroku.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2008/04/interior.jpg
I painted the red parts first. I used Revell Aqua Karminrot. After it was dry, I masked of the red parts and painted the parts Tamiya XF-1 Matt Black. I also added some black interiorflocking.
Then I found some oldskool speakers in a Kai Parts Aoshima wheelset. I painted them silver/black. I never saw these speakers are the same as the above pictures shows. Just saw it while I was typing this update :D If that isn't coinvidence??

I also added the small last parts on the enginebay which is also completed now.
