Hi there @ all,

i would like to start a project in future, but struggling by finding reference pictures from this bike.
If there is anyone who could help me by getting such pics, i would be glad, cause i bought a couple of extra detailing parts, but still find not much reference material :frown:
The Repsol Version is welcome too, i think it doesn`t matter cause there will be not much differences i think.

Hope someone is able to help,

kind regards
Guido

I am not sure from which kit you will start from but test bike was not as same as Tamiya version of Rossi's first race bike.
Here is link, if you don't have it, to one of the best moto modeling pages.
http://www.motomodeling.com/Howto/211V/211V_1.html
There are a lot of links also and I am sure you will find everything you need.
I will look at my other computer, I think I might have some Repsol pictures somewhere.
Good luck.

Thanks for helping by ;)

I would like to use the 2002 Repsol Version as base, but didn`t knew that the testversion is so different to the kit :(
I have 2 Pics of the testbike, but not sure if this represents the right bike and don`t know how to show them up here ^^
I think i will build it in Repsol colours, cause i don`t want to change too much on cowlings etc.
Thanks for the link, i didn`t have it ;)

I know S27 made transkit for it, I wouldn't advise doing this without transkit.

Thank`s for notice  I will do a search for it :)

But there is still one problem left....i need reference Pics for this or the 2002 repsol version. I did a heavy search the last days in the net, but i found as good as nothing :(
I knew there had been a japanese magazine, think it was called pit walk collection with tons of super detailed pictures of all areas of the bikes, espacially need- and helpfull by doing wiring jobs and extra motordetailing.
Can anyone help with such pics, maybe selling these magazine or however to help me by getting by??
In the past i did allmost car modeling, only build a Ducati 916, 2 NSR 500 and 2 Yamaha 500 bikes, but all straight from the box. This time i want to go a step upwards and do some detailing to the model, seen so many great bike builds on this side here, and this let my motivation come up:smile:

I have the pit walk collection, rather a booklet than a magazine actualy. I can scan some pages to pdf and e-mail you if you give me your address in a PM.

Not sure which version you're referring to, full carbon or the flo red version?

There's two good ref books available, 'Pitwalk Photo Collection MotoGP and GP500 racers' which features the 2002 season RCV and more recently, 'Racers #13', a bookzine which has refs of the test, pre season and final version of the RCV. This one has pics of an early test version seen at Sugo with pipes either side of the swingarm, plus some distant pics of Rossi on a later machine at an IRTA test at Catalunya and later at Suzuka, the flo red version S27 did.

I´m not sure what i will do, mainly i like the carbon Testbike, not the red-black one.
I don`t know about the pipes, i only have a pic from the other side taken by roll out from the box. On the lower cowling is the Honda in white and Michelin in Blue/white. On the side the blue and red HRC.

Sorry, but i can`t show you the pic, cause it`s not possible to load up from pc :/
I have other pics, without sponsor logos, but i think they belong to another Test.

Suzuka test, August 2001....

IRTA test, Catalunya, March 2002...

Rossi didn't ride any of the other early versions, the tests were done by Japanese test riders. Rossi continually complained that the fairing wasn't big enough.....Judging from these pics, the IRTA version is closest to Tamiya's 2002 kit.

Your right, i knew these pics and on the red black one are more modifications to be done then the black, but the black needs different cowlings too, it has the same different back then the other Testbike, the Kit version is different at this point.
Here is a pic from the side, i found it in a motorsycle magazine, think it must be the IRTA test too, but this version has sponsor logos on the lower cowling....
It looks like he was testing different cowlings on the bike, the one with sponsor Logos has a different front too, looks like a camera, ne number is a little bit higher and on the window are different sponsors.

Finaly i think i will try to build the repsol version when i get the references, i don`t want to do changings to the cowlings for this build.

Sorry for my bad english, but i try my best ^^
