I went to advance auto parts the other day my car kept cranking so they hooked there ob scanner to it and got a reading crankshaft position sensor malfunctioning and they got some reading with the gas cap I forgot what they said about that but I installed a new one with the battery terminals off so I started it up it ran fine for about three days now its back doing the same thing so could they be something else triggering this I even had the codes reset still nothing

If it cranks good but won't start, have a helper crank it while you visually check for spark at the spark plugs. If you have spark everywhere, check for injector pulse.
Check the crank sensor wiring circuits, ref voltage--ground--signal. Some sensors share ref voltage and ground with other sensors. It is possible another sensor that shares those circuits could cause a problem. Check the cam sensor.
