Remote Car Locking
A few years back I managed to fix an unbranded Remote Car Locking unit to my car. However it recently broke.
I purchased a Hawk PE-007 Remote Car Locking unit, but can't make it work.
I rather hoped I would be able to connect the relevant wires from the new unit directly to the relevant wires from the old unit - but can't interpret the instructions.
For the wiring diagrams of both units, click here: www.sakol.co.uk/remotelocking.jpg
My question is, what colours from the new unit go to the old unit?
I know the old Purples go to the new Browns.
I know the old Red goes to the new Red.
I am confident the old Black goes to the new Black.
But I can't figure out the rest.
I am fairly confident that my car has a Positive trigger, but not 100% sure.
One of the many combinations I tried was:
old Blue to new white/black.
old Green to new white.
old Yellow to new Red/black.
New Yellow & new Yellow/Black to new Red.
But didn't work.
If you are able to help me figure out what colours from the old unit I should connect to what colours of the new unit, that would be great.
FYI, if it is relevant, the car is a Mazda 323F 2000 model.
Thank you very much.

You will need to determine if your car has positive trigger, negative trigger, or reverse polarity locks. Once that's determined, the necessary connections should be pretty straight forward.
Otherwise if you have the installation instructions for the old system that gives a text description of the different wire colors, you'll be able to easily cross reference to the new system by matching up functions.
From what I can tell, your blues and greens will connect. The others would be a guessing game without the text descriptions. The new unit appears to have an alarm function that the old one did not. There are positive and negative trigger sensor wires that you won't use if you don't care about the alarm functionality. But the parking light polarity may be programmable.
