97 Suburban with A/C Troubles !!

Hey, I just joined the site, lots of great info hear.

My problem is that I had to replace the hose to and from the compressor, it had a bad Schrader valve and was leaking. Now only the front A/C gets cold, and I am wondering if there are 2 orifices, one in each line. I have only found one in the front A/C, and the parts store said there was only one.

Thanks in advance for your help.

There is only one orifice tube. Did you add the correct amount of refrigerant? Ft and rear a/c takes 4.0lbs.

Yes, just one orifice tube (it's for the front). The rear has an expansion valve at its evaporator. As posted above, make sure you have the full refrigerant charge, the 64 oz. is for the systems with rear AC.

If you're adding by 12 oz. cans, figure on (at least) 6 cans, as there will necessarily be some loss when adding.

You likley pulled a good vacuum and checked for vacuum hold before adding refrigerant, right?
