2012 ford focus fuel pump problem

Iv had my focus 1.6 diesel for 6 months when it started clicking, sounding like a moped. The higher revs the faster the clicking.

The garage i bought it from had a look and decided contaminated fuel had caused the fuel pump to start not working properly.

All in all this will cost £3000 to fix as they say its not under warranty!

Any one had a similar experience with the clicking or contaminated fuel in UK during September 2012? I need to figure out whether this a common fault with the car or the fuel i bought was to blame.

Please please help!
