Anyone know how to put 4wd in a 2wd Jeep, or how much it would cost to do? Also, what type of upgrades can I do to my jeep, aside from a lift?

It would cost alot to get into a 4x4, but some other mods you can do are: rock rails, bull bar, skid plates, tow hooks, A/T tires, winch, off-road lights, and alot more.

It would be cheaper to just buy a 4x4 Cherokee. As far as mods are concerned, the sky is the limit with Jeeps.

I have a 1990 4cyl jeep with 2wd.....bought it CHEAP and have been thinking about fixin it up. I have been looking at many options, like just buying a jeep with the inline 6 and 4wd already LOL....But i wanna drop in a small block chevy and make it 4wd. I could find a wrecked camaro with a 350 and automatic trans. and just transplant it in my jeep.....advanceadapters.com has motor mounts to bolt in for a 350. I kow it wouldn't be easy, but i know enough people here that i could find a motor and tranny pretty cheap. The most expensive part for me would be the 6-8 inch lift and 33 or 35 inch tires. The hard part will be finding someone to help me do it LOL...i can't weld worth a damn. The only thing making me wanna drop a 350 inmy jeep and just gettin silly with it....is the COOL factor! Yeah it would probably be cheaper to buy a cherokee with 4wd and 4.0L already...but it just wouldnt be as BADASS as one with a 350 :) I could always different diffs off a chevy or ford which would probably be stronger than the 4wd jeeps...
I haven't made any definite decisions but i thought i'd share what i was thinking.

Disclaimer: I am new to the Jeep/4x4 world so if it sounds like i dont know what im talking about than its prolly true HAHA...let me know if some of the things i said made sense :)
