Are you missing the connector that plugs in to your Sony unit, or just the adapter that used to go between the Ford wiring to an aftermarket radio wiring?
I can't tell you what the pinout is of the Sony unit, but if you have that connector and just need the pinout for the Explorer, I can provide you with that. You may need to know what level of stereo your Explorer had originally to correctly match up the wire colors.
If you want the radio wiring diagram from the factory service manual, send me a Private Message with the request. Be sure to include an e-mail address for you.

best advice on sound systems is pull factory crap out and run your own !! it takes a rocket scientist to figure out the factory colored codes. they are stupid and make no common sense. I always put my own little fuse block in as well for anything aftermarket, right on the firewall where its easy to check.

If all that's being replaced is the head unit, there's really no benefit in running all new speaker wires and power wires. With the factory wiring diagram it's quite simple to figure out the wiring, much easier than figuring out what goes where versus trying to figure it out after some tweeker runs a bunch of new wires using all the same color speaker wire and a non-standard color code for the power. ;)
